What is it about?
This is intended as a tool for the non-specialist, to aid in the rapid identification of combs found in archaeological excavations. It allows dating and provenancing, and directs the reader to more focused classifications for particular types, times and regions.

Why is it important?
Accurate identification of small finds is a vital underpinning of any excavation or research project. Easily accessible guides and tools should push forward our ability to efficiently carry out basic research tasks.
Perspectives
The idea is that this provides an easy way in to working with combs, so that it’s not necessary to trawl Through dozens of classifications in order to work out what you are dealing with.
