What is it about?
This article provides a model for governance that can help an organizations to create value through a holistic view of all its project management activities. While the article is based on theoretical perspectives it demonstrates how project governance can be implemented in practice. For more information on how it can be used see: Sankaran, S., Huemann, M., & Turner, R. (2024). Organizational project management. In The Handbook of Project Management (6th ed., pp. 527–536). Why is it important?
I have been involved with a team of practitioners with many. years of experience in projects creating an impact outside academia by developing a project governance maturity model through series of workshops through the College of Leadership and Management at Engineers Australia https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/ that has practical relevance to improve the delivery of major projects to deliver beneficial outcomes. Perspectives

My perspective on governance is influenced by a systemic view of how project governance can be used using Viable Governance Model based on the work of Stafford Beer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viable_system_model. See DOI:10.1007/978-981-13-0370-8_14-1
