What is it about?
A general model for the fluid–structure interaction of a flapping foil with prescribed pitch and passive heave and flexural deformation is given within the linear framework using a quartic approximation for the deflection. The resulting system of three algebraic equations allows for a depth parametric survey and analysis of both the propulsion and the energy harvesting problems
