What is it about?
Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma actuator has attracted much attention over the past two decades due to its unique properties, such as simple construction and installation, the possibility of retrofitting and fast time response. In this work, it is found that a series of planar type pressure waves induced by a single microsecond pulse (MP) DBD plasma actuator propagates outwards in the rising period of the positive pulse, which is first observed and might be linked with the streamer discharge which occurs in the rising stage. Meanwhile, an unsteady wall jet which has a deflection angle of 60 ° is formed during the plateau of the constant voltage of 10 kV, while a new type of arched jet is observed during the plateau of the constant voltage of 0 kV.
