What is it about?
We conduct a two-stage optimization study to alleviate pitch-up and improve longitudinal stability of a tailless lambda-wing aircraft. The optimized planform and vortex generators increase usable lift by delaying pitch-up and suppress the sudden increase in a pitching moment, respectively. Our results show that sustainable leading-edge vortex (LEV) flow over the outboard wing is important for designing a stable lambda-wing aircraft.
