What is it about?
The study analyzes exhaust emissions from an LPG-fueled vehicle, focusing on CO₂, THC, and NOx. Data were collected during road tests using a Portable Emissions Measurement System (PEMS). The impact of vehicle speed, engine load, and RPM on emissions was then examined. Emission models, particularly for THC, were developed and found to be highly accurate. The results help improve the understanding of the relationship between engine operating parameters and emissions, supporting emission reduction strategies and the development of eco-friendly technologies for LPG-powered vehicles.

Why is it important?
Understanding emissions from LPG-fueled vehicles is important because it helps develop strategies to reduce air pollution and improve environmental sustainability. By analyzing real-world data, researchers can identify factors influencing emissions and create accurate models to predict and control them. This knowledge supports cleaner vehicle technologies, contributes to regulatory policies, and promotes the use of LPG as a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional fuels. Ultimately, it helps reduce the environmental impact of road transport and improve air quality.
Perspectives

This publication provides valuable insights into the real-world emissions of LPG-fueled vehicles, offering a data-driven approach to understanding and controlling their environmental impact. The study highlights the potential of machine learning and emission modeling in improving the accuracy of emission assessments, which could be instrumental in shaping future policies and technologies for cleaner transportation. However, further research is needed to validate these findings across a wider range of vehicle types and driving conditions. Expanding this approach could contribute to more effective emission reduction strategies and support the transition to sustainable mobility solutions.
