What is it about?

It is about using diclofenac sodium releasing nanofibres in treatment of resected experimental tumors. Studies in vitro have shown also superior effect against cancer cell lines as compared to diclofenac sodium alone or plain nanofibres.

Why is it important?

It may have valuable application in treatment of cancer patients especially as adjunct or after surgery.

Perspectives

We have developed nanofibres with various releasing capabilities of various drugs and studied then for tissue engineering and for other therapeutic purposes. In the current study, in a joint work with experts in cancer research, the benefit of using diclofenac sodium releasing nanofibres in treatment of resected experimental tumors was demonstrated. Studies in vitro have shown also superior effect against cancer cell lines as compared to diclofenac sodium alone or plain nanofibres.
