What is it about?
Novel targets and treatments are needed to improve kidney outcome in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Here, using patient data and preclinical models, we demonstrate a disrupted regulation of glycolysis in CKD peritubular endothelial cells that contributes to microvascular rarefaction and CKD progression. Targeting this novel metabolic element could be effective to prevent CKD progression in the afflicted patients.
