Why is it important?
Anecdotal evidence had long been provided for the burrow use of hynobiid salamanders. We have firstly verified that the Siberian salamander inhabiting Shaamar, Mongolia, uses subterranean burrows dug by Muskrats for temporary refuges during daytime in summer.
