What is it about?
Ionization tunneling means that in strong electric fields the repulsive Coulomb field of the bound electron is reduced. The bound electron can tunnel trough the reduced Coulomb field., an ion is left. This time spent in the reduced Coulomb field is zero. The measured tunneling time arises at the repulsive Coulomb field front
