What is it about?

Hesperidin and Vitamin E ameliorated cardiac injury induced by doxorubicin (Dox) as indicated by decreasing LDH and CK activities as well as lessening histopathological alteration. Hesperidin and Vitamin E alleviate oxidative stress induced by Dox as evident from the decreased cardiac MDA and serum NO levels and cardiac catalase and serum MPO activity. Hesperidin and Vitamin E act as detoxifying agents as indicated by increasing serum AE and PON activities and cardiac GSH level. Hesperidin and Vitamin E decrease apoptotic tissue damage as manifested by the decreased cardiac caspase 3 activity.

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long-standing collaborations. This article also lead to cancer drug discovery groups contacting me and ultimately to greater involvement in their research.
