What is it about?
In this study, we looked at why some people in Indonesia, aged 18 to 59, are more likely to die from COVID-19. We used data from April 2020 to May 2021 and found that the risk of death was higher for people who were older, needed ventilator support in the hospital, had severe COVID-19, or had a history of travel. This means that doctors should pay extra attention to these factors when treating COVID-19 patients in this age group.

Why is it important?
What sets our study apart is that it focuses on a specific age group (18-59 years) in Indonesia, where COVID-19 mortality risk has been a concern. Our research uses data up to May 2021, providing insights into a critical period of the pandemic. Understanding the factors that contribute to COVID-19 deaths in this age group can help healthcare providers and policymakers make targeted decisions to save lives. By addressing these unique aspects, our study offers valuable guidance for managing the ongoing pandemic, making it relevant and timely for a wide audience.
