The Value Equation in Psychiatry

What is it about?

This is a Viewpoint piece about increasing the value (quality/cost) of the mental health services provided in this country. It points out the many ways that resources are not used wisely, causing our spending to be much higher than other developed countries with poorer outcomes. These problems are all directly or indirectly related to a profit driven system that our profession has been complicit in maintaining.
