What is it about?
This is a census of books once owned by Jesuit libraries in Europe between the 1550s and 1770s, based on archival and library research (largely funded by grants) and staffed by student interns at Georgia Southern University. We are now partnered with a provenance project at the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Why is it important?
The census is freely available via my website (www.jesuit-libraries.com) and allows researchers to investigate issues of material culture, history of the book, early modern education, historical linguistics, religious history, and intellectual history.
