What is it about?
This is a book review examining the content of the book, Pentecostal Orthodoxy by Emilio Alvarez. The review summarizes the structure of the 5 chapters and the development of the argument for what it looks like for Pentecostals to recover the ancient traditions of Christianity and put them into practice in an organic way, while cultivating relationship with Christians in other traditions.

Why is it important?
With the growth of Pentecostalism globally, the increasing growth and awareness of ancient Christianity by Pentecostals is a significant development that requires study and thought.
Perspectives
The book given us by Archbishop Alvarez is an important witness to the Pentecostal Movement in the 21st century, particularly as concerns the growing interest in historic liturgies, governance, discipline and the Church Fathers and Mothers. By reviewing Alvarez, the conversation is advanced to ask the question, “So, we Pentecostals are interested. How do we do this well?”
