In today's digital world, feminists use social media like Weibo to speak out against sexism. But sometimes, their efforts face backlash, like in the Tangshan beating incident in China. Analyzing Weibo posts, we found that online discussions on gender issues might get ignored or criticized. This shows a hidden form of sexism that makes it tough for grassroots feminist movements to make a difference online. Understanding these challenges is key for anyone interested in digital activism and gender equality.
