What is it about?
Smart buildings suffer from both active threats (i.e., cyber-attacks) and passive threats (i.e., physical faults). To address these issues, this study proposes and demonstrates a real-time advanced building resilient platform, called CYDRES, to empower GEBs with cyber-attack-immune capabilities through multi-layer prevention, detection, and adaptation.

Why is it important?
Our proposed CYDRES empowers GEBs with cyber-attack-immune capabilities through five modules: a network analyzer, a fault detector, a mode selector, a cyber-resilient controller, and a situation awareness platform. CYDRES is successfully demonstrated through the attack-injection and fault-injection experiments in a Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) testbed.
