What is it about?
We use both dual-rail and polarization encoding to propose a CNOT model with optimal success probability. Therefore, we propose a linear optical component that we call Asymmetric Polarizing Beam Splitter, abbreviated APPBS, that behaves differently against polarized photons on the upper and the lower side.

Why is it important?
We use two APPBSs to propose an architecture of a CNOT gate that offers a success of probability of 4/27.
