What is it about?
We hypothesized that treatment with TGF-β1 " potent profibrotic cytokine" might enhance collagen deposition at early stages following glycerol-induced injury. We investigated the effects of exogenous TGF-b1 on muscle regeneration and adipogenesis in the glycerol-injured muscle of normal mice

Why is it important?
Combination of TGF-β1 with glycerol might be an alternative to enhance muscle fibrosis for future studies.
Perspectives
The combination of TGF-β1 with glycerol-induced injury provides a simple model to enhance muscle fibrosis which may help fibrosis-related research and development of anti-fibrosis therapeutics.
