What is it about?
Multiple treatment options have been tried for vitiligo but with variable and unsatisfying outcomes. This study investigated the safety and efficacy of combined Fractional CO2 laser, autologous intradermal platelet rich plasma injection, and NB-UVB phototherapy in treatment of vitiligo at different body sites.

Why is it important?
We found that the combined Fractional CO2 laser and intradermal PRP injection showed the best results in repigmentation and patient's satisfaction followed by combination of fractional CO2 laser and NB-UVB phototherapy. Fractional CO2 laser and PRP showed poor results if they are used as single treatment.

Vitiligo has negative impact on the patient's quality of life, in addition treatment is challenging for both patient and the dermatologist. I hope that this research article provides a novel therapeutic option for vitiligo. This option is combined treatment with Fractional CO2 laser and intradermal PRP injection which was found a safe and effective treatment.
