What is it about?

This study explores how Latinx caregivers use formal and informal support services to address their children's mental health needs. Using network analysis, it identifies connections between different types of support, such as psychological counseling, telepsychology, and social supports. The findings reveal patterns of service utilization and highlight influential support types within the broader network, offering insights into how families navigate complex systems of care.

Why is it important?

Latinx families face significant barriers to accessing mental health care, often relying on a mix of formal and informal supports. Understanding the network of services they use can inform strategies to improve access, reduce disparities, and create more integrated support systems. This research also highlights the importance of culturally tailored interventions and identifies opportunities to promote evidence-based care for underserved communities.
