What is it about?
The study is devoted to the investigation of the plasticity of molecular crystal at liquid nitrogen. L-leucinium hydrogen maleate was bent at liquid nitrogen recorded to video. To explain this plasticity temperature varied X-ray diffraction experiment with in-depth analysis was performed.

Why is it important?
Being the first organic crystal that was bent in liquid nitrogen, this is an important step in current views of plasticity for molecular crystals. It was explained, bending model suggested and predicted that many other crystals can be bent too.
