What is it about?
Endothelial cells are exposed to an acidic pH in a variety of pathological and physiological conditions including ischaemia. Authors provided evidences that via inhibition of the chemokine receptor CXCR4 expression and function, acidosis may prepare/program endothelial cells to the neoangiogenic response to ischaemia.
