What is it about?

In this paper, we attempt to give a colloquial description about quantum materials to the readers. After that we take a step further and provide an overview on where we are in terms of actually utilzing them in devices, and what is required for progression in this direction.

Why is it important?

You have probably heard about 'quantum materials' recently. The term is gaining more and more traction not only in the scientific community, but also in the society in general. However, despite the burst of attention they receive, the definition of quantum materials is still rather vague, and what steps are necessary to actually meet them in our everyday lives is yet to be unveiled. In this paper we try to clarify this information and give you a perspective on what is going on.

Perspectives

This is an easy-to-read article that I wish I was given when I first started research as a graduate student. If you are interested about quantum materials, thin films, and their applications, why not spend 30 minutes of your time learning about them here?
