What is it about?

Laval nozzles are used in the CRESU method to create a controlled supersonic jet at very low temperatures and pressures. Traditionally, these nozzles are designed using the Method of Characteristics (MOC), which simplifies the design but has limitations. This study introduces a computational method to improve nozzle design, considering factors like turbulence and reservoir size. It validates results with experiments from the Universities of Leeds and Birmingham. Additionally, an open-source MATLAB tool was created for users to simulate and design Laval nozzles accurately.
