What is it about?
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) blood clot is a deep veins of the limbs. VTE is a cause ofmaternal mortality. This study examined the risk factors for VTE by following over 103 thousand pregnancies during 2011 ane 2014. Two novel risk factors for VTE were identified: 1) endometriosis led to a 2.7x increase in VTE incidences, and 2) repeated pregnancy loss led to a 6.13x increase in VTE incidences. Additional risk factors identified inlcuded threatened abortion, threatened preterm birth, preterm birth and cesearian section.
