What is it about?
Regioregular poly(3-hexylthipohene) (P3HT) was electrochemically oxidized and its doping level was estimated by the potential-step chronocoulometry (PSC) method. By plotting the Seebeck effects of P3HT films against their doping levels, it was found that there is a good linearity between them.

Why is it important?
Because the short history of organic thermoelectrics, the relationship between the Seebeck effects of conducting polymers and their doping levels, which is strongly related with their carrier densities, has not been investigated at all. This is the first report on the relationship between them.
Perspectives

Using this method, the relationship between the Seebeck coefficients of many types of conducting polymers and their doping levels will be investigated. From these investigations, we will find the general relationship between them in future.
