What is it about?
This study found that the internalized biphobia and internalized racism that plurisexual women of color (P-WOC) experience are both associated with increased surveillance and dissatisfaction in their bodies. Plurisexual refers to those who have the potential to be sexually, emotionally, and/or romantically attracted to more than one gender identity.

Why is it important?
These findings expand the literature on P-WOC and highlight the need for further research on reducing factors of discrimination to improve P-WOC’s mental wellbeing.
Perspectives
I hope this article adds to the literature of what we know about predictors of mental health and well-being for plurisexual women of color. Sexual identities such as bisexuality are still often dismissed in and out of the LGBTQIA+ community. I hope that this article will help mental health professionals understand the ways that having a person's racial and sexual identity can be detrimental to mental well-being.
