What is it about?
Global burden disease (GBD) study is global research program of disease burden that assesses cause of death and disability from mayor disease, injuries, and risk factors. Based on GBD study, this paper describes disease and cause of death pattern in Indonesia from 1999-2016 to help the policy maker prioritize the healthcare intervention.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that after 27 years, people in Indonesia living longer (increasingly 8 years) but spending their later years in poor health as a result of chronic diseases. Females living longer than males. Communicable diseases, maternal, neonatal, nutritional, and injuries causes death and disability decreased but non-communicable disease rose. Dietary risk leading contributor to the poor health like heart disease, stroke, and diabetic.
