What is it about?

The structural design of a compressor pump with gas damper and the pneumohydraulic and electrical circuits of a testing unit for studying a compressor pump are presented. A comparison of the indicator diagrams of the compressor and pump chambers along with integral characteristics obtained experimentally and in mathematical modeling are presented

Why is it important?

Liquid and gas are used simultaneously as the working medium in modern complex process automation systems while pumping and compressor plants are used separately to create the pressure of the working media, a strategy that is not always expedient from the point of view of maintaining the reliability, confi guration, and cost of the equipment. The development of a hybrid device that combines the functions of a pump and a compressor is, therefore, a critical need.

Thus, the mathematical model of the workfl ows in the chambers of a compressor pump corresponds to the actually occurring physical processes and may be used in parametric analysis and in the development of structural designs on the initial stage of design of the present compressor pump.
