What is it about?
Lifetime-broadening-suppressed (LBS) Cu K-XANES spectra of several Cu (II) complexes have been measured by partially fluorescent yield technique. The obtained spectra were compared with oscillator strength distributions calculated by discrete variational Xa method. It was demonstrated that LBS-XANES spectra are sensitive to ligands, and hence are applicable as a helpful probe in coordination chemistry.
