What is it about?
The 4-aryl 1,4-Dihydropyridines, also known as Hantzsch esters, are important structural units in Medicinal Chemistry, whose most important application is perhaps their use as modulators of calcium channels in blood pressure control, such as Nifedipine.

Why is it important?
Fluorescent molecules can act as Molecular Probes that can be visualized "in vitro" or "in vivo" by fluorescence microscopy, allowing their localization inside cell tissue.
