What is it about?
We solve the problem of the salinisation of coastal aquifers. Usually, this occurs during storms, high tides, droughts or when saltwater penetrates freshwater aquifers and raises the groundwater table

Why is it important?
Since groundwater is an essential nutrition and irrigation resource, its salinization may lead to catastrophic consequences. Many acres of farmland may be lost because they are becoming too wet or too salty to grow crops.
Perspectives

Advanced (multi-level and multi-grid) numerical methods that we have proposed reduce the solving time. This allows us to consider larger regions, finer details, vary more parameters and obtain more accurate results.
