Why is it important?
This is actually my first research paper, though it appeared in print later than some others. This is an early demonstration of parallel processing speeding up computation for interpreted languages. Here an equation is evaluated for 100 different values of an unknown parameter as the basis to evaluate an equation where the best guess for starting values might be wrong by many orders of magnitude. The APL language is not used much any more, alas.
