What is it about?
By quantifying the nonlinear relationship between different brain regions we found significant differences in nonlinear functional network connectivity (FNC) between people with schizophrenia and healthy controls, particularly in the visual cortex.

Why is it important?
The brain-mind continuum is a big dataset. Using a method that captures both linear and nonlinear effects in a “boosted” approach, we increased the sensitivity of finding brain group differences compared to a standard linear approach.
