What is it about?
H2 production from light-weight and hydrogen-rich materials like ammonia-borane is of vital importance for the development of fuel-cells technology and the employ of greener and renewable energy sources.

Why is it important?
The employ of organometallics as homogeneous catalysts for ammonia-borane dehydrogenation at low temperature (below that of thermal dehydrogenation, occurring at ca. 100°C, and even below ambient temperature!) is a popular and exploited method to increase the amount of H2 produced under milder conditions. This may lead to practical applications in H2 storage and production technologies.
