What is it about?
Preclinical studies have revealed a reduction in mesh-related complications. However, the inert nature of implantable materials, like PP, makes stem cell adhesion tough, limiting their intrinsic efcacy and making cell-coated mesh implantation hard in terms of cell viability.

Why is it important?
Fibrin Glue coating on polypropylene meshes is a safe and easy procedure. It can be performed preserving sterility and it allows cell adhesion and viability for further surgical uses. CCK-8 assays demonstrated a positive metabolic activity of stem cells seeded on the FG-coated mesh. PI/Calcein stainings revealed an optimal viability of adhered cells on fibrinogen/thrombin-coated meshes.
