What is it about?
It could be shown that by choosing the right metrics, a PV module's power can be correlated to its temperature using a simple linear relationship under the condition that so-called steady state conditions are met. This can be achieved by measuring in the middle of the day when irradiation changes only slightly. The accuracy of the power prediction changes when deviating from this optimal state which was analyzed and quantified.

Why is it important?
By using UAVs equipped with infrared cameras, PV modules can now potentially be assessed in a simple, fast and non-disruptive manner.
