What is it about?
Doctoral student partners have a unique experience, as they are an immediate witness to the doctoral process, and they have limited influence. This paper elevates their voices to create a stronger community of support around doctoral students and their partners.

Why is it important?
Our findings show that couples where one of the partners is a doctoral student in a counseling program with a family therapy focus, struggle in managing the demands of the program. Recommendations include implementing support based on resources available within an Educational Institution community.
