Why is it important?

The early years of a child's life are critical to their health and development. Many factors are instrumental for children to reach their developmental milestones including proper nutrition, exercise, emotional support, and education.

The extent of how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted children's health long-term development will be a much-debated topic for years to come. Scientists are striving to understand the potential long-term effects on children resulting from day-to-day disruption, social distancing measures, and even food insecurity.
