What is it about?
Psychiatric second opinion consultation is especially important for psychosis because optimal care for schizophrenia spectrum disorders hinges on correct diagnosis, as well as the timely provision of evidence-based psychopharmacological and psychosocial treatments. Through a retrospective chart review focusing on resulting changes in diagnoses and treatment recommendations, this paper describes the value of consultation services with expertise in treatment-resistant schizophrenia that allows the timely initiation of clozapine.
