What is it about?
Individuals within a plant species are often though of as responding similarly to climate change. We demonstrate that the response of productivity to environmental conditions varies among locally adapted populations within a plant species.

Why is it important?
Plant productivity is the main input of carbon into the terrestrial biosphere. Therefore our results suggest that locally adapted populations within a plant species may influence the response of the carbon cycle to climate change.
