What is it about?
AlphaFold has achieved significant success in protein prediction and has even won a Nobel Prize. The latest version, AlphaFold 3, expands its capabilities to include predictions for various molecules, specifically RNAs. What are the current limitations on RNAs?

Why is it important?
While the original AlphaFold 3 paper describes the performances on a unique dataset for RNA, we provide a complete benchmark and a comparison with state-of-the-art models. Our benchmark comprises five complementary datasets to assess the current limitations of AlphaFold 3 for RNAs.
Perspectives

This article provides a detailed overview of the current limitations in RNA 3D structure prediction. It aims to offer insights into the existing bottlenecks in this field, particularly regarding the AlphaFold 3 model.
