What is it about?
In this paper, a new title ketene dithioacetale derivative formuladed as (C8H8S2O2), has been synthesized and characterized by X–ray diffraction (XRD). The structure stabilized by hydrogen bonding via the different entities for to form a three–dimensional network, the behavior of different intermolecular interactions has been investigated using Hirshfeld surface. Ketene dithioacetals are useful intermediates in organic synthesis.

Why is it important?
Studies of the relation between adsorption and corrosion inhibition are of considerable importance. Since the S atom has a strong adsorption on copper, several investigators have studied the role of the ketene dithioacetal derivatives in the corrosion inhibition.
Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom we studied the properties of this compound.
