What is it about?

Neutron phase contrast is an imaging method with potential to increase the information we get from samples and decrease noise in measurements. In this publication, we set out to find the best way to simulate neutron phase contrast experiments by asking the question: Is the neutron best simulated like a wave or a particle?

Why is it important?

It is important to have non-destructive characterisation methods because different methods work well for different purposes. Knowing how to simulate phase contrast imaging helps deisgn and optimise future imaging experiments to get the right contrast mechanism for the sample. Simulations can also help understanding of phase contrast data.
