What is it about?
Detailed compositional analysis of fluted pumpkin leaves shows that it is a good source of iron, Beta carotene, Vitamin K and ascorbic acid. Tlefairia occidentalis is used in ethnomedicine to boost the level of blood and is believed to to be useful for the management of diabetes. The seeds are fermented to produce a relished condiment which has potentials for being developed into a flavouring agent.
