What is it about?
This is the first 'Library Analytics' output of the Jisc funded Library Impact Data Project, which builds on work at Huddersfield to show the link between library usage and student attainment. The project showed a statistical significance between book issues and e-resource use and student attainment - although this is not a causal relationship. Data from 8 universities in the UK showed a significant relationship for all partners in the project.

Why is it important?
This was the first work of its kind in the UK to show a significance in the relationship between library analytics and student attainment. Research in Australia and North America was done in parallel, but without any of the authors knowledge at the time - all three studies showed the same results, the library use is related to student attainment
