What is it about?
Despite increasingly widespread participation in recreational running in the United Kingdom and other advanced industrial societies, there remains a relative dearth of qualitative research into the everyday experiences. Here, we draw upon symbolic interactionist perspectives and a collaborative autoethnography to investigate our daily identity transitions from academics to distance runners.
