What is it about?
This paper reviewed produce growers’ attitudes, knowledge, and practices toward six major on-farm food safety principles, including agricultural water handling; soil amendments; domesticated animals and wildlife management; worker health, hygiene, and training; cleaning and sanitation; and food safety plans and record-keeping. The paper also evaluated the effectiveness of various available educational interventions for growers. Major motivators and barriers for growers to adopt food safety practices were summarized.
