Why is it important?

Social emotional development can be facilitated both directly and indirectly. When well-developed SEL programs are not available, SEL can be implemented through teaching strategies in every subject's lessons, as well as in other environments at school.

Perspectives

This research involved several European countries. It contributed to development of common understanding of approaches to SEL at schools.
